Below The Angel of the North created in 1998 by artist  Anthony Gormley. The angel is found 12 miles north of Durham . As soon as you pass the Washington service station on the the A1M start looking out for the angel on the horizon. You can pull up and walk out take a close look and take your own photographs the road that passes by is the A167.
